Sure, the Toshiba RD97DT isn’t the latest, greatest DVD recorder on the market but it sill delivers a pretty impressive range of features and does a great job of becoming the centre of your home entertainment hub.

Toshiba’s RD-97DT boasts a a 250GB hard disk that allows you to store up to 24 hours worth of programemes on it (using SLP mode) and the ability to pause live television (just like Sky+ and Freeview+).

Now, if you’re like me, there are probably some programmes that you’ll want to keep hold of – the RD97DT makes this easy. Simply record your favourites to DVD-RW, DVD+RW, DVD-R and DVD+R discs, then put it on the shelf and let it gather dust!

Ok, so this DVDR has some pretty handy features, but what else has it got? For a start, there’s 720p, 1080i and 1080p upscaling through the HDMI output plus it plays a range of digital media formats, not least of which are: DivX, MP3 and JPEG. You also get on-board analogue and digital tuners, the latter of which gives you complete access to Freeview channels, a 7-day EPG and digital text.
